CalciumMagnesiumCarbonate (dolomite) is a natural product that aquarists use mainly in Calcium reactors, but also in filter systems and as a substrate in Malawi/Tanganyika aquariums. It increases the calcium and the magnesium levels of the water. We recommend that you replace 25% of our Hydrocarbonate with Dolomite to bolster the Magnesium level of your aquarium. Magnesium is a very important part of the water buffering system, and is incorporated into coral skeletons. It is also critical to photosynthetic processes.
